Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with tin foil.
  2. Place the salmon fillet, skin-side down, on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. In a small saucepan, combine brown sugar, soy sauce, honey, water, minced garlic, and pepper. Simmer over medium-high heat, stirring frequently for 2–3 minutes until bubbling.
  4. Mix cornstarch with cold water until smooth, then whisk the mixture into the saucepan. Stir for 30 seconds until the sauce thickens.
  5. Brush the thickened teriyaki sauce evenly over the salmon.
  6. Bake the salmon for 12 to 20 minutes, checking at 12 minutes for doneness.
  7. Remove from oven and serve with fresh lemon wedges for squeezing over the salmon.
