- Boil a large pot of salted water over high heat. Add the gnocchi and cook for 2-3 minutes until they float. Drain and set aside.
- Melt 4 tablespoons of butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in 4 tablespoons of flour and stir for 1-2 minutes until golden.
- Gradually whisk in 2 cups of milk, stirring for 5-7 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Mix in 1 teaspoon each of garlic and onion powder, along with salt and pepper. Stir in the cheese until melted.
- Fold the cooked gnocchi into the cheese sauce until evenly coated.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and spread the gnocchi mixture in a greased baking dish.
- Sprinkle with extra cheese and breadcrumbs. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden and bubbling.
