  • 1 pound Ground Beef can substitute with ground turkey or chicken
  • 1 medium Onion chopped; yellow or white recommended
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced; fresh is best
  • 8 ounces Mushrooms sliced; button or cremini work well
  • 1 teaspoon Salt adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika consider smoked paprika for added flavor
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 cups Beef Broth low-sodium recommended
  • 1 cup Sour Cream or Greek yogurt for a lighter option
  • 2 tablespoons All-Purpose Flour or cornstarch for gluten-free
For Serving
  • 8 ounces Egg Noodles any pasta can be swapped
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil can replace with butter
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Parsley for garnish

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add 1 chopped onion and 2 minced garlic cloves, sautéing for 3-4 minutes until translucent.
  2. Add 1 pound of ground beef, breaking it apart as it cooks. Cook for 5-7 minutes until browned, draining excess fat if necessary.
  3. Stir in 8 ounces of sliced mushrooms, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, 1 teaspoon of paprika, and 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce. Cook for another 3-4 minutes.
  4. Mix 2 tablespoons of flour with 1 cup of beef broth in a small bowl. Pour into the skillet with another cup of beef broth. Bring to a gentle simmer for about 5 minutes.
  5. Reduce heat to low and stir in 1 cup of sour cream until fully incorporated, being careful not to boil.
  6. Cook 8 ounces of egg noodles according to package instructions in a separate pot. Drain and set aside.
  7. Serve the Hamburger Stroganoff over the cooked egg noodles, garnished with chopped parsley.
