Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Season chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning on both sides. Let sit for about 10 minutes.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil. Cook chicken for 6-7 minutes on each side until golden brown, then remove and let rest.
  3. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Cook pasta until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Reserve ½ cup pasta water before draining.
  4. In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Slowly pour in heavy cream, stirring constantly. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Gradually whisk in grated Parmesan cheese until fully melted and smooth. Adjust consistency with reserved pasta water if necessary.
  7. Add cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat with the creamy sauce, adjusting thickness as desired.
  8. Return sliced chicken to the skillet, mixing in with pasta and sauce. Let simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
  9. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley or basil and serve immediately.
