Step-by-Step Instructions
- Begin by cubing the extra-firm tofu into bite-sized pieces. In a mixing bowl, soak the tofu cubes in hot water for 10 minutes, along with smashed garlic cloves, kosher salt, dried oregano, and crushed red pepper flakes.
- In a separate mixing bowl, combine cornstarch, onion powder, and smoked paprika to create a dry coating mixture. Coat the drained tofu cubes evenly with this mixture, shaking off any excess.
- Heat extra-virgin olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering, about 2-3 minutes. Carefully add the coated tofu cubes and fry them for 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and crisp.
- In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and melt unsalted butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, then stir in the tomato paste and heavy cream, cooking for about 5 minutes until thickened.
- Fold the fried tofu into the creamy garlic tomato sauce, along with the oil-packed sun-dried tomatoes. Stir gently and allow to heat through for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Plate the Creamy Marry Me Tofu over rice or pasta, garnishing with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves.

Notes
For best texture and flavor, serve immediately. Leftovers may lose their crispy charm.
