Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Drain the firm tofu and wrap it in a clean kitchen towel. Press with a heavy object for 15-20 minutes to remove excess moisture.
  2. In a small mixing bowl, combine 4 tablespoons of honey, 4 cloves of minced garlic, 3 tablespoons of soy sauce, and 2 tablespoons of sesame oil. Stir until fully blended.
  3. Spread ½ cup of cornstarch onto a large plate. Coat each tofu cube in cornstarch, ensuring an even layer on all sides. Shake off excess cornstarch.
  4. Heat about 1 cup of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the coated tofu cubes in batches for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Lower the heat and pour in the honey garlic sauce. Let it simmer for about one minute, then add the fried tofu and toss to coat evenly.
  6. Transfer the glazed tofu to a serving platter and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
