Step-by-Step Instructions for Sesame Balls
  1. In a small saucepan, combine hot water and sugar, heating until the sugar dissolves and it reaches a rolling boil.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, add glutinous rice flour and pour in the hot sugar water, stirring constantly. Knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  3. Divide the dough into equal portions, flatten each, place a dollop of red bean paste, and pinch edges to seal.
  4. Wet hands, dip each ball in water, roll in sesame seeds to coat evenly.
  5. Heat oil to 300°F (150°C), fry the balls in batches for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until they float.
  6. Remove from oil with a slotted spoon, drain on paper towels, and allow to cool slightly before serving.
