Ingredients
  

For the Shrimp
  • 1 pound wild-caught shrimp
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for marinating
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper adjust to preference
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder or fresh garlic
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon oregano or Italian seasoning
  • to taste salt & pepper
For the Slaw
  • 2 cups cabbage (shredded) green or red
  • 1 cup carrots (shredded)
  • 1/4 cup cilantro (chopped) for freshness
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise or Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice for acidity
For the Tacos
  • 8 pieces tortillas corn or flour

Method
 

Marinate and Prepare
  1. In a medium bowl, combine olive oil, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. Add the shrimp and toss until coated in the marinade. Let sit for 15 to 30 minutes.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine shredded cabbage, carrots, and chopped cilantro. In a separate small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, lime juice, salt, and pepper until smooth. Pour the dressing over the cabbage mixture, tossing to coat. Set aside.
Cook and Assemble
  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat until hot. Add the marinated shrimp and cook for 2 to 3 minutes on each side until pink and slightly charred. Remove from heat.
  2. Warm tortillas in a dry skillet for about 30 seconds on each side until pliable.
  3. To assemble, lay a warm tortilla on a plate, add blackened shrimp, top with slaw, and add any optional toppings.
