  • 0.5 cups melted butter
  • 0.25 cups sugar
Filling
  • 1 package instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold whole milk
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 4 ounces German’s sweet chocolate (or semi-sweet), melted
  • 8 ounces whipped topping
Toppings
  • 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut (toasted)
  • 0.5 cups chopped pecans (toasted)
  • caramel sauce (optional)
  • chocolate shavings or extra pecans (optional)

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • 9-inch pie dish
  • microwave
  • Spatula

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by making the pie crust if you're opting for homemade. Combine crushed graham crackers, melted butter, and sugar in a mixing bowl. Press the mixture into a 9-inch pie dish and chill for 15 minutes.
  2. Melt chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Let it cool slightly.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat softened cream cheese until light and fluffy. Gradually mix in sweetened condensed milk, then fold in melted chocolate and whipped topping.
  4. Pour filling into the chilled crust, smooth the top, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or preferably overnight.
  5. Before serving, top with toasted shredded coconut and chopped pecans. Optionally drizzle with caramel sauce.
