Ingredients

For the Casserole
  • 4 cups Diced or Shredded Cooked Chicken Use rotisserie chicken for a quick and easy protein source.
  • 8 slices Chopped Bacon This adds a rich flavor and crispy texture; turkey bacon works for a lighter option.
  • 5 cups Broccoli Florets Fresh broccoli should be parboiled for tenderness; frozen spinach needs to be well-drained.
  • 3 cloves Minced Garlic Fresh garlic enhances flavor, but garlic powder will do in a pinch.
  • 1 cup Ranch Dressing Acts as a creamy binder; a mix of mayo, sour cream, and seasonings can substitute for ranch.
  • 1 cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese Brings creaminess; feel free to swap with Provolone or Monterey Jack.
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese Adds a sharp flavor profile, delightful alongside the mozzarella.

Equipment

  • casserole dish

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (191°C).
  2. If using frozen spinach, thaw it and squeeze out excess moisture. For fresh broccoli, parboil for 1-2 minutes until bright green.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked chicken, chopped bacon, broccoli or spinach, minced garlic, ranch dressing, and shredded cheeses. Mix well.
  4. You can mix the casserole ingredients directly in the casserole dish for easier cleanup.
  5. Spoon the mixture into a 9x13 inch (23x33 cm) casserole dish, spreading it evenly.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining shredded mozzarella and cheddar on top.
  7. Bake for about 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and edges turn golden brown.
  8. Remove from oven, let cool slightly, and serve.
