Method

Step-by-Step Instructions for Jasmine Bubble Tea
  1. Start by boiling water in a kettle until it reaches a rolling boil. Place 2-3 jasmine tea bags into a heatproof container and pour the boiling water over them. Allow the tea to steep for 3–5 minutes, keeping an eye on the color change; it should take on a vibrant golden hue. Once steeped, remove the tea bags and let the tea cool to room temperature.
  2. While your tea is cooling, bring a pot of water to a boil. Add the quick-cook tapioca pearls and cook them according to the package instructions, usually around 5-10 minutes. Stir frequently until they turn soft and chewy, then drain the pearls and rinse them under cold water to stop the cooking process. Set them aside.
  3. Once the jasmine tea is completely cooled, add honey or simple syrup, adjusting to your desired sweetness. Stir well until the sweetener is fully dissolved.
  4. Pour in your choice of milk into the sweetened tea and stir gently until well combined.
  5. In two tall glasses, divide the cooked tapioca pearls evenly. Then, fill each glass with ice cubes.
  6. Carefully pour the jasmine milk tea mixture over the ice and tapioca pearls in each glass. Give the drinks a gentle stir to mix everything together. Serve immediately with boba straws.
