Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions for Garlic Thanksgiving Turkey
  1. Allow the thawed turkey to sit at room temperature for 1 hour. Remove the giblets and set aside.
  2. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C). Gather your roasting pan and meat thermometer.
  3. Pat the turkey dry and season the cavity with salt and pepper. Stuff with onions, lemon, and fresh herbs.
  4. Mix softened butter, minced garlic, chopped herbs, salt, and pepper in a bowl to create the garlic herb butter.
  5. Loosen the turkey skin and rub the herb butter under the skin and over the turkey.
  6. Chop onions, celery, and carrots, and spread them on the bottom of the roasting pan.
  7. Place the turkey on the vegetable bed and roast it for about 15 minutes per pound, checking the temperature.
  8. Tent the turkey with foil if it gets too dark, and continue cooking until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
