Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat for about 2-3 minutes.
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine fresh blackberries, balsamic vinegar, honey, salt, and black pepper. Gently mash the berries while cooking, allowing the mixture to bubble and thicken for about 5 minutes.
- Softly spread unsalted butter on one side of each slice of rustic bread.
- Place two slices of bread on a clean surface, buttered side down. Layer the brie cheese on the unbuttered side of each slice.
- Spoon the blackberry balsamic sauce generously over the brie.
- Top with the remaining slices of bread, buttered side up, and gently press down.
- Carefully place the assembled sandwich onto your preheated skillet. Grill each side for 3-4 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is gooey.
- Once cooked, remove the sandwiches from the skillet and let them cool for a minute. Slice each sandwich diagonally.
- If desired, sprinkle freshly torn basil on top before serving.

Notes
Ensure even butter coverage on the bread for a uniform golden crust. Adjust heat to prevent burning the bread while melting the cheese.
