Cooking Instructions
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef for about 6-8 minutes until fully cooked.
  2. Add the diced onion and cook for about 4 minutes until softened; stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  3. Mix in the tomato paste and cook for 1 minute, then sprinkle flour over the mixture. Gradually pour in beef broth while stirring.
  4. Allow the sauce to simmer on low heat for about 8-10 minutes, fold in peas or vegetables if using.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Incorporate softened butter until resembling coarse crumbs. Stir in milk gently.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of dumpling dough onto the bubbling beef mixture, cover with a lid and reduce heat to low.
  7. Steam the dumplings for about 15 minutes without lifting the lid.
  8. Let the dumplings rest uncovered for 5 minutes before serving. Serve in bowls with beef and dumplings.
