Making the Rolls
- In a stand mixer, combine sugar, salt, warm milk, egg, instant yeast, softened butter, and all-purpose flour. Start mixing on low speed for a couple of minutes, then increase to medium for about 5 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.
- Cover the dough with a clean kitchen towel and place it in a warm area, allowing it to rise for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough gently and knead briefly. On a floured surface, roll the dough into a rectangle approximately ½ inch thick.
- Spread softened butter over the rolled-out dough. Sprinkle an even layer of shredded cheese on top, followed by garlic powder and Italian seasoning.
- Starting from one edge, tightly roll the dough into a log shape. Cut the rolled dough into 1-2 inch pieces.
- Cover the sliced rolls with a towel and let them rise again in a warm spot for about 20 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 18-20 minutes until golden brown and the cheese inside bubbles.

Notes
Ensure your warm milk is around 110°F to activate yeast effectively, and knead until smooth and elastic for best results.
