  • 1 teaspoon Almond Extract Can be replaced with more vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon Important spice for flavor
  • 1 pinch Cayenne Pepper Can use guajillo chili powder for a twist
  • 2 cups Milk of Choice Any dairy or non-dairy milk

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Chill the stone ground Mexican chocolate in the freezer for 10 minutes before grating.
  2. Grate the chocolate using a cheese grater into fine pieces.
  3. In a cocktail shaker, combine grated chocolate with honey or maple syrup, vanilla, almond extracts, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, and maca powder.
  4. Pour in the milk and shake vigorously for about 30 seconds until frothy.
  5. Add ice to the shaker and shake again for 20-30 seconds until well chilled.
  6. Pour the mixture over a glass filled with ice. Optionally garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon or cacao nibs.
