For the Salmon
  • 2 fillets Salmon packed with omega-3 fatty acids
  • to taste Salt essential for enhancing flavors
  • to taste Pepper essential for enhancing flavors
For the Pesto Butter
  • 1/4 cup Basil Pesto feel free to use store-bought
  • 1/4 cup Unsalted Butter opt for unsalted to manage salt intake
  • 2 cloves Garlic fresh minced
For Searing
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil can substitute with avocado oil
For Serving
  • 2 Lemon Wedges for garnish
  • a few leaves Fresh Basil optional garnish

Method
 

Cooking Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine softened unsalted butter with fresh basil pesto. Mix thoroughly until well blended.
  3. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
  4. In a large oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  5. Carefully place the salmon fillets skin-side down into the hot skillet. Sear for 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy.
  6. Sprinkle minced garlic around the salmon and sauté for another minute until fragrant.
  7. Spread the pesto butter over each salmon fillet and allow it to melt into the fish.
  8. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 8-10 minutes until the fillets are opaque.
  9. Remove from the oven and serve hot, garnished with fresh basil leaves and lemon wedges.
