For Garnish

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink. Remove and set aside.
  2. Add the ground pork sausage to the same skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes until browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat if needed.
  3. Sauté diced onion, chopped green bell pepper, and sliced celery for about 5 minutes until softened.
  4. Stir in minced garlic, Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper; sauté for another minute.
  5. Add 1 cup of rice, stirring to combine and toast for 1-2 minutes until golden.
  6. Pour in 3 cups of broth, bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes.
  7. Gently stir in the cooked shrimp and parsley, adjust seasonings with salt and pepper.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with extra parsley or green onions, and hot sauce on the side.
